About the safari

Our Cape Town safari trip has been rated by Sawubona magazine as one of the Top 10 best day-trip destinations. The safari is led by an experienced guide who will share inside-stories and facts about your surroundings – easily rousing your inner wild side. Duration of game drive and departure times are approximate and dependent on the interaction of the guests with the ranger and the sighting of animals. Please note: transport to and from the reserve is for your own arrangement. Please bring a bathing costume, sunblock and warm clothing.

Early Morning Safari Itinerary

07h00 - Welcome drinks & breakfast upon arrival
It takes just under 2 hours to get to Aquila. Please leave in time to arrive by 7am.
Breakfast Snacks
(Juice, Bread rolls, Cold meats, Yoghurt, Cheese, Fruit)
08h00 - 4x4 Big 5 Safari Game Drive
Bring your camera, sunscreen or jacket depending on the weather
10h00 - Time at Leisure
Read a book, swim in the pool or take the kids to play a game of giant chess or putt-putt while you settle down post game drive
12h00 - Depart to Cape Town

Spot the Big 5

Aquila is home to the big 5 animals, so you're bound to spot all of them during your early morning safari tour. Bring your camera!

Family Friendly

Aquila is a family friendly game reserve, and children are able to join us in the game drives. We also offer a Junior Range Programme.

Experienced Guide

A professional tour guide will drive you through the reserve, assisting you with spotting the Big 5 and giving you specific information about the animals on route.

Self-drive to Aquila

Early morning safaris do not have transport options available to get to the reserve.

Our tour guide (Trevor) was one of a kind. Really great interactive experience. We managed to see Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, Zebras, Giraffes and the mighty lion in their natural habitat. We actually got a couple meters away from the male lion. The location is scenic and great for photos, even before you start the safari in the main complex. The buffet lunch was very good. Arrive early so you avoid queuing as it gets quite busy when everyone goes to fill up their plate. No need for hiking shoes or anything, you will mostly be on the safari truck with a quick stop for refreshments.

We had an absolutely amazing time. Special thanks to our transport driver, Ebrahim who made our long 2 hour journeys back and forth a total joy. Incredibly friendly and kind staff who are obviously passionate about their job and Aquila. Will definitely be back! Our tour guide was also very knowledgeable and informative.
