About the safari

This full day Big 5 safari experience is an ideal inclusion in your Cape Town holiday itinerary. Enjoy a great diversity of wildlife and natural Karoo beauty with the opportunity to capture stunning wildlife photos and make African memories to last a lifetime. Duration of game drive and departure times are approximate and dependent on the interaction of the guests with the ranger and the sighting of animals.

Aquila is home to the big 5 animals, so you're bound to spot all of them during your early morning safari tour. Bring your camera!

Family Friendly

Aquila is a family friendly game reserve, and children are able to join us in the game drives. We also offer a Junior Range Programme.

Experienced Guide

A professional tour guide will drive you through the reserve, assisting you with spotting the Big 5 and giving you specific information about the animals on route.

Self-Drive or Book Transport

Our traditional game drive at Aquila offer the option of transport to and from the reserve, unless you want to self-drive.

We had a one and a half day stay at Aquila and it was amazing. The rooms were wonderful and the whole place was beautifully done and spotless. Everything was great, the staff, the buffet, and game drives with Jannie who could answer any question, the star gazing with marshmallows and the best way to finish it off was the African hot stone massage in the Spa. all in all a memorable experience.

Loved it! Amazing value for money experience. We did 3 days, 2 nights and went on all safaris and horse ride. The reserve is quite spacious, the spa is a good addition and the food is unbelievably good with lots of vegetarian options. The tour guides are only satisfactory in terms of biological knowledge but absolutely top notch in their enthusiasm, interpersonal skills and sense of humor.
